Entry #1 Gypsy is a pitbull mix. She was a rescue from a local shelter. When we got her she was twenty pounds underweight. She is very goofy and fits in very well in our family. She loves to be outside and will spend most of her day laying laying out in the yard.

Entry #6 This is GooGee. He and his Mother and litter mates were brough into the Albuquerque Shelters & Services ( the pound) as strays. We adopted him from there. A week later we were contacted by the shelter and ask if we could bring him back to have there Vet give him a check.His Mother and sibling were all put to sleep because they had distemper. Was I ever lucky, because when I think back on it I know I would of lost and wouldn't be here now to make my new family laugh at the funny faces and the things I do. Entry #12 Hello! My name is Dozer, im an english bulldog. I love playing with my toys, and im a chewer! I love my heart tug rope because i can chew on one end, or play tug with the other. I like going for car rides, taking naps, and being the official mascot for the local fire department. My favorite time of the day is when the school bus come by so i can say hello to all the kids.

Entry #15 Tommy is a four year old baby that was adopted from the Dearborn County Animal Shelter in Aurora,IN. He is the sunshine of my life and makes me so happy. Tommy loves to play fetch, eat, and sleep. Tommy is sitting on his pad which is his favorite sleeping spot.
Entry #16 Chaco came to live with us one year to the day after our elder retriever died and he came from the same POUND! We found him by chance on Pet Finder, looking for a Corgi cross to match the short legs of our other two rescues. When we saw he was in a Salt Lake City pound, we gave up hope, as we figured they would not adopt out of state to NM. The shelter girls knew our little guy was on the short list (so to speak) and put him in a carrier and had him flown to us rather than having him put down. We are training him to be a therapy dog so he can visit schools and hospitals. We love our boy so much! How could anyone have even thought about putting him down?

Entry #25 Her name is Emmylou and she's and Aussie/German Shepherd mix. I got her from petfinder.com about 13 months ago, she was a stray in Austin, MN. We've since moved to Tempe, AZ and now to Albuquerque, NM. Taken on Pinchot Cabin trail, in the Ponderosa Pines of the Mogollon Rim, northern Arizona.
Entry #26 Emmylou Some of her favorite things are chewing on deer antlers, playing with other dogs, bossing the neighbors, and 'herding' our cat Pinot. Her very favorite thing in the whole world is sitting as close to me as possible, perferrably in my truck, headed up the mountain for a hike! She's my world and I am hers :)

Entry #39 This is Lliam! He is our 3 year old Boston Terrier. He is the sweetest, most energetic, loving and dedicated pup ever! He loves to play, and will keep playing fetch until WE actually get tired.Another fun fact about Lliam is that he loves to sleep under the covers, and he will lay as still as possible in the morning like he is hiding so we don't make him get up. It takes a few minutes of coaching him out from under the covers. We love our little boy and are planning to rescue him a little friend soon!
Entry #40 Ben and Andy (all red) are brothers that were born to a stray mother under a trailor about 11 weeks ago. I am a non-profit rescue that takes mothers and babies, and pregnant cats. My friend called and brought me the mother and the two boys who were badly frightened. They are now weaned and are completely socialized. It took a while but when we let them sleep with us, they became totally tame. Very devoted to each other, we are hoping to adopt them together.

Entry #44 Tinkerbell. She is about 4 years old. Several years ago, I accidently ran over a Siamese cat of mine named Shimmer. Unfortunately, we had to have her put down and it broke my heart to do so. My cousin who was living with me at the time felt so bad for me he went and rescued Tinkerbell from someone who no longer wanted her and gave her to me. She was named Tinkerbell because she literally "flies" through the air to get to me. No matter where I am sitting or standing she will leap and land on my chest. Not a good thing when I am eating, as she will jump on my shoulder and try her best to get my food. She is so spoiled. She is such a small cat that not long after we got her I noticed she had a small bump on her belly. Well, she was pregnant and two days later gave birth to 1 little kitten we named Sage. She wouldn't nurse it so we had to assist her and teach her to nurse. She loves to sit with her tongue sticking out and it is so funny to see. Here is a pic of her, doing what she does best...Enjoy!

Entry #51 This is Wilson the wiener dog, also know as a black and tan short hair mini dachshund! He is my most favorite thing in the whole world! He is part of a four dog family with two beagle brothers Braney who is 13 years old, Franklin who is 8 years old, and a chorkie named Manford who is 7 years old! Wilson is the youngest of the bunch but fits right in as king of the yard no one gets anything past him! Everyone that meets Wilson wants to take him home! He is such a sweet and loving puppy. He is very laid back and sometime I think he thinks he is an old beagle like his brothers! Wilson is truly a beautiful one of a kind doggie!

Entry #58 This is Buddy, he is mixed of cocker/poodle, so we were told. We got him from a rescue group who had a suddenly influx of puppies and needed foster homes. His mom had died and there he was at four weeks needing a mom. We took him home, just intending to be a foster home, but we fell in love with him and now a year later he is still with us. He is sweetheart and loves my daughter, he sleeps with her every night, I go in and check and there he is with his head on the pillow next to her, sleeping away.

I like to play fetch with my fuzzy balls, and sleep in random places such as this hat! I tend to bark like a dog when I want my mom's attention, but maybe that's because my room at the shelter was right next to the dog room! Life after the shelter is great, and I couldn't ask for anything better! :)

My Mommy saw the add and my photo and couldn't say no. She was looking for a mastiff or boxer, and got little old me instead! No one really knows what breeds i am, but my mom thinks i may have some beagle in me because i have a big hound dog howl bark! I'm quite the little character, or so I'm told. =]

Entry #99 THIS IS COMET...WHEN I WENT TO THE SHELTER TO FIND A FRIEND. HERE I THOUGHT I WAS PICKING OUT MY FRIEND BUT I WAS WRONG, HE PICKED ME OUT. AFTER VISITING A FEW CAGES, I WAS CONFUSSED ABOUT THERE WERE SO MANY CATS. I STARTED A DEEP CONVERSATION WITH THE WOMAN WHO WORKS THERE. I WAS STANDING INFRONT OF THIS CAGE AND THIS CAT STUCK HIS PAW OUT AND RUBBED MY HAND. I DIDN'T PAY HIM ANY ATTENTION. I WAS SO BUSY TALKING. THEN HE STUCK BOTH PAWS OUT AND GENTLY GRABBED MY HAND. HE WAS HOLDING MY HAND IN HIS PAWS WHILE I WAS TALKING. I LOOKED OVER TO HIM AND HE WAS RUBBING HIS HEAD ACROSS THE CAGE AND PURING SOOO LOUD I HAD TO STOP MY CONVERSATION AND TALK TO HIM. HE LOOKED AT ME WITH HIS BIG AMBER EYES OF LOVE AND I KNEW WHO I WAS TAKING HOME WITH ME. HES SO SPECIAL TO ME I LOVE HIM SO MUCH

He loves to play with his other puppy friends as well as his favorite stuffed animal toys! He snores while he sleeps, keeping his mom up all night sometimes. But, because he has such a handsome face and wonderful personality she can't help but love him so very much.
